          One of my favorite comic strips when I was growing up was Milt Caniff’s “Steve Canyon.  Caniff first came to fame with the strip “Terry and the Pirates.  That strip evolved into another, “Male Call” designed for the troops in WWII.

          The B-17 “Bit O’ Lace used a graphic design penned by Caniff.  More information about the artist, Caniff, can be found at:
