3 January 2013 Back in the saddle again

Cassi Creek:  That’s right, the daily hike with Mike resumed today after a holiday hiatus.  The walk down the road and back up went smoothly after so long without making the trek.  The road and the surrounding ground is heavily littered with twigs, branches, and crushed branches blown onto the road by the two previous high wind periods.
The creek it high and fast, typical for January here if I recall correctly.  The noise it generates makes conversation more difficult than normal.  The sight and sound of two aging men walking along the road and trying to understand what one is saying to the other must be comical from the outside.
I just called to arrange delivery of a load of firewood to take us into winter.  We have sufficient kindling all around us.  We just need to let it dry out before breaking it up for inside storage and use.
Trip into VA #2 for the week.  PTSD clinic largely not all that effective.  One of the patients feels the need to talk every time someone else speaks.  He wants to say something that isn’t coming out at all, let alone clearly.
          Salads for dinner
The drive in was made under overcast.  The drive home showed blue skies until I turned onto 107.  Then the overcast came rushing back and it is doubtful we’ll see blue skies today.
It is now obvious that my prediction of the demise of Boehner as Speaker was made with too little knowledge of the internal workings of the House.  Given the amount of anger expressed toward him by his own party and the teavangelist elected on that spend no money idiocy; I honestly felt his days with the gavel were short in number.  Strange bedfellows indeed.
