21 October 2011 Dark nights snowy ridges down comforters

Tuesday night, at 1950, the power failed.  We had three hours to sit quietly in the dark, reading by headlamp and listening to the wind pour over the ridge and down the gap.  Then we had power again, just in time to see the rain begin.  The rain fell steadily Wednesday.
Thursday had periods of rain, driven by moderate winds.  When we came home from class Thursday afternoon, the ridgeline was covered by low clouds and snow was visible beneath the clouds.  Frost warnings were issued for Thursday night with follow-on freeze watches for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Winter’s first pale gray pass is right on time.
We should see freezing temperatures tonight.
I’ve spent the last three days fighting with networkedblogs.  I can’t find a way to log in to the program. System restore failed to overcome the problem.
          Shrimp Curry for dinner tonight.
Shabbat Shalom!
