Today’s project that can’t be deferred any longer is to bleach and wash down the deck. There are patches of gray-green algae that have taken up residence in the wood of the deck. What was supposed to be treated wood apparently was not. A reminder that not everyone operates on the same ethical plane. Another reminder – a neighbor asked to scavenge some scrap metal in our upper property. He offered to do some clean-up in exchange. The scrap is gone, the trash thrown around over a wider area. Now I have to wait until he wants something else and ask him why he, or his dummy, left us with a mess and an apparent drive from the road into our property.
Object lesson – don’t behave as if kindness will be returned when dealing with local people. Every time we’ve tried to help someone, it has cost us time and money.
I mopped the deck down with bleach and water. Gloria hosed it down after it dried. It needs another treatment with bleach tomorrow if the weather holds.
There is some sort of problem going on between Facebook and networked blogs that has resulted in these posts not showing up on line. I’m going to try to work around the problem.
