13 April 2012 Now recruiting Shakers, Baptists and other abstainers

Bill would define holding hands, kissing as "gateway sexual activity
(WMC-TV) - Tennessee senators approved an update to the state's abstinence-based sex education law that includes warnings against "gateway sexual activity."

In a new family life instructions bill, holding hands and kissing could be considered gateways to sex.  Planned Parenthood said that allowing state government to define local sex education curriculum could backfire.

According to a 2009 Youth Risk Behavior Study, 61 percent of Memphis City high school students and 27 percent of middle school students have had sex.  That's higher than the national average.

Planned Parenthood said these numbers are why a new sex education bill promoting abstinence is not realistic

Cassi Creek:
For all the objections to “sharia law voiced by  the various hate groups, those same groups and churches run by and for the American Taliban seem hell-bent upon installing and enforcing Sharia.
Everyone seems to forget that those cultures which succeeded in abstaining from sex no longer exist.  Have you seen any Shakers lately?
All those evangelical churches that demand abstinence education as a means of preventing pregnancy are proving adherence to hypocrisy.  It is really quite simple.  If the hard-core abstentionists had really abstained as they claim, there wouldn’t have been a Boomer generation nearly the size of ours.  In addition, the generations X & Y would be miniscule.
What we need to do is to encourage such teavangelist-driven legislation and use the full power of the state and national governments to enforce those laws.  Within another generation, there will be no more abstainers.  They’ll have gone the way of the Shakers.  Then the rest of the population can get on about enjoying all the physical and emotional joy that humans are able to enjoy.
