Cassi Creek: The
necessity of putting nutritious food onto the table for consumption is combined
with the necessity of making certain that the selected menu items are also
something that Gloria can eat without spiking her glucose. It also helps if the selected items are
capable of inspiring a Pavlovian response.
The day’s
weather, chilly and damp with mid level clouds, suggests something that will
fill the air in the kitchen with a mix of flavors. Italian sausage and white beans with mustard
greens sounds like an acceptable soup.
The fallback may well be pizza. I
can thaw a few shrimp to add some protein and flavor to a very thin crust. Anchovies work for me, particularly if there’s
a Cesar salad on the table.
I’ll let
Gloria make the choice. Both items are
simple to fix and go down well as an evening meal.
