1900 last night finds us fed,
medicated, and parked in the lot at the Jonesborough visitor's center.
The temperature is hovering around 40 F. Jupiter is high in the
evening sky and the moon will be bright on the drive home, one night past full.
The dance
turn out is greater than at the
previous event in November. I think the “family dances" prevent some
of the more experienced dancers from attending. It seems to show up in the
gate receipts. If I was still able to dance' I'd try to avoid any event
with small sticky kids underfoot.
We left the dance at set break and
had an uneventful trip home. Loki
greeted us at the door, as is called for in her contract.
We learned last night that The
Creekside restaurant, one of our favorites ‘closed a month ago. They had excellent,
Memphis style ribs and pulled pork. They also made their own pastrami.
We'll miss them. While there has been another opening down town in
Jonesborough, the menu is dull, atrociously lacking in imagination and variety,
and has no food that Gloria can eat
The local newspaper restaurant
review this week highlighted a Thai restaurant that has Pho on its menu. That, in combination with a chili-fried fish
may merit a trip for dinner in the next week or so. We have a gift card for Red Lobster that we’ll
put to use before year’s end; hoping that the food is better than it was the
last time we ate there. . .
